When your children try to access a restricted webpage, they are blocked and a special blocking page is displayed. It is possible to override the block for a limited time, if you know the password.

Turn on/off

The Facebook Monitor can be turned on and off per child profile. Parents can select between two different views (view all content or view only questionable content). By default, PureSight shows only the questionable content to protect the privacy of the child.

Profanities and Languages

Profanities found in Facebook activities are divided into risk levels and categories. The Facebook monitor works on several languages including English, Russian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Hebrew and Arabic.

Turn the Facebook Monitor on/off

1. Click on the Facebook Monitor icon in the Settings screen and select "On".

2. Make sure that your Web-protection is set to 'Filter' or 'Monitor'.

Reports and Alerts

PureSightprovides timely information about your child's behavior on the internet, helping you protect your children from the hazards of the internet. This information comes in the form of reports and alerts.

Reports collect periodical (daily, weekly or monthly) activity information in web surfing, instant messaging and file-sharing applications. Reports can be sent to your email, or viewed online.

Certain events might require your immediate attention and are therefore sent to you as emails. These emails alert you to possible use problems (misuse), such as trying to access blocked sites, to guess the parent password, or to tamper with PureSight files.

Modify Alert Settings

Misuse Alerts are sent by email immediately after attempts were made to bypass or circumvent filtering policies.

Types of Misuse Alerts

PureSight offers six misuse alerts concerning the online activities of your children. You can be alerted when your child attempts to:

Using and Managing Profiles

PureSight comes with a pre-defined My Family profile protecting your family members once installation is completed.PureSightallows you to create up to 10 profiles. Existing profiles can be removed and passwords can be changed.

The following recommendations describe the suggested profile setting for several scenarios.

A family with one child, or children in the same age group

The default My Family profile should be sufficient for your needs. Make sure that you select the appropriate preset for this profile.

A family with children of different age groups

When different protection is required for each child, maintain the My Family profile as a default profile for the youngest children. Create a common profile for the older children, or a separate profile for each.

An open approach

You prefer not to actively limit your children, but want to receive a timely warning that your child is exposed to questionable content, whether on Facebook, websites or in Instant Messaging (chats).

The default My Family profile should be sufficient for your needs. Make sure to set the Content Categories to Block Mode, and to mark all the categories that you would like monitored. Define Monitor Only in the Specific Protection menu for websites, instant messaging and File Sharing applications.

Add a Profile

For each profile you create, you will have to set-up a Child Password. This password is required to login to a specific profile, and protects younger children from being exposed to Web, Chat, and file-sharing content suitable only for older children. Tell your children their personal passwords.
