Boston mayor supports anti-cyberbullying campaign

A new anti-cyberbullying hotline was recently launched in Boston, while Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Boston Public Schools Superintendent Carol R. Johnson met with 15 “cyber mentors” - volunteers who teach other students about online privacy and the hazards of the Internet - to brainstorm ways to spread the word on the hotline and the city’s new campaign to combat cyberbullying.

The mayor has taken a proactive approach in trying to prevent in Boston what happened in South Hadley, where a 15-year-old girl is alleged to have killed herself recently after having been cyber bullied.
