Study shows children as young as 7 search for sex online

A look at the top search terms used in 14.6 million searches logged by one of the leading parental control services reveals that 7 year olds were looking for porn - the search term was in position number 4 in the 7 and under age group. Less surprising is the fact that the search term “sex” was also number 4 in the 13 year olds popular search list.

Both boys and girls searched for sex, although the boys had sex and porn in positions 4 and 5 respectively whereas for girls “Taylor Swift” was in the 4th position and sex was at 5.

In the 8 to 12 year old group the search term “sex” is 4th surrounded by YouTube, Google, Facebook, Club Penguin, Yahoo and eBay.

The top 10 searches across all age groups for 2009 are:
  1. YouTube

  3. Facebook
