Australia: teen aged cyber bullies will have their computers taken away
A proposed amendment to Australia’s Criminal Code recommends that school-aged cyber bullies will have their home computers and mobile phones permanently confiscated.
The proposed bill is innovative as it incorporates the following:
- "Images of verbal or physical bullying" are to be included in the definition of child-exploitation material.
- Police and school principals will have the authority to confiscate electronic devices used to commit bullying (to date principals already have the authority to confiscate mobile phones).
