The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has recently introduced a new cyber safety education program for trainee teachers. The new program is aimed at providing trainee teachers with the skills needed to manage cyber safety education and awareness issues in Australian schools.

The program covers the following topics:

• cyber bullying
• communicating safely
• safe social networking
• exposure to inappropriate content
• e-security
