Online Child Safety News

Welcome to PureSight’s Parent Resource Center

Your kid’s safety – your primary concern!
As a parent, you worry about your kids constantly. Whether they are young children, tweens or teens, you try to keep them safe from the dangers of the outside world.

And there are many dangers out there.

You make sure they cross the street safely and don’t come home alone in the dark. You make sure they dress warmly if it’s cold outside. You warn them never to speak to strangers. You worry about their nutrition and about their social lives. You worry about lots of other dangers and do your utmost to protect them.

The same goes for their online lives.

Your kid’s online safety – that’s what we’re here for!
If your kids are like most, they spend a major part of their day online – on the internet or their mobile phone. There are many potential dangers unique to the types of online communication that kids favor – chat rooms, instant messaging, social networking sites, and many others. Cyberbullying, Sexting, online predators are just a few. And the consequences can be far reaching.

Your kids can suffer from rejection, depression, low self esteem, a decline in their school work or, in extreme cases, may even contemplate suicide! And although that may seem extreme, you should be aware that such cases have been documented.

Worried? You should be… Are there things you can do? Sure!
  • First of all, try to understand what the dangers are
  • Learn what you can do to protect your kids and how you can instruct them to protect themselves
  • And if after all, your kids have fallen prey, there are things you can do to support them and to report these actions to the authorities so the assailants are stopped.

Our Parent Resource Center can assist you with all of these. We’ve collected lots of information, data, tips and tools that can help you. So feel free to check out all the information in our Resource Center by selecting a topic from the menu on the left.
